Hello,
Are you looking for a mental health professional that is interested in listening and helping you develop your life story? Do you want a therapist who is supportive and empowering that can assist your healing and personal growth? My name is Elana and my goal is to provide clients with brave, rational, and honest spaces. I enjoy working with individuals 13+, families, and couples as they pursue their goals.
In individual or group settings, we problem-solve and navigate the infinite life changes, challenges, and circumstances that affect clients. Changes can be uncomfortable, but they are a normal and healthy part of life. Contact me if you are struggling to address symptoms of shame, low self-esteem, depression, being overwhelmed, anxiety, perfectionism, and loss/ grief.
Sometimes, a person’s experiences can create emotions that are difficult to understand and manage. The person may feel “alone” or that their problem is “too big”. I can help you. Continuing to misunderstand and mismanage emotions can escalate mental health symptoms into depression, anger, anxiety, grief, inadequacy, and stress. I assist my clients in developing workable tools and skills to help them navigate a spectrum of emotions. We develop their natural abilities to cope by utilizing a non-judgmental, person-centered, evidence-based approach to therapy. I typically incorporate CBT, DBT, Narrative Therapy, Brainspotting, mindfulness, and meditation modalities. Clients learn to use their natural strengths and talents to help them reach their goals of self-awareness, expression, and emotional regulation.
Having a background in art, my clinical focus is on finding one’s mode of expression. To express myself, I embrace my “nerdy” and “creative” side. My husband and I collect, play, and sell retro video games and systems. We have almost every gaming system imaginable; however, I prefer playing PlayStation as a brand. We enjoy watching sad Japanese-style cartoons together. The sadder the better, so we can cry and share that moment with the characters. I am also the Dungeon Master for a DnD (Dungeons and Dragons) group that consists of my husband and a few close friends. I love stories and fantastic adventures. In my DnD group, I create different quests and guide my adventures as they explore the many paroles designed by my imagination.
Outside of work, I focus on my own mental health. My social supports are my close friends and family and my religion. I am a believer in God, a wife, a gamer, a daughter, a sister, a niece, a cousin, and a friend. I enjoy movies, swimming, reading, learning, and researching. These sources of peace replenish me and provide me with so much love and support that I can channel it, incorporate evidence-based practice, and deliver it to you. Let me help you find your peace.
